We faced the difficult task of creating a modern apartment in an old Nowa Huta-style apartment building in Kraków. We begin the renovation work with demolition and uncovering the unknown.
In apartments like these, the problems include surprises lurking beneath the plaster or under an old bathtub, as well as the condition of the sewer and water pipes. It’s worth considering whether the old systems can be connected to the new ones, and how to ensure good bathroom ventilation. Demolishing one element often results in damage to another. In these apartment buildings, renovation is always a major challenge.
